－What You Can Expect－

Set out on a journey of discovery, beginning with the former gold rush town of York. First settled in during the early 1830s, York prospered and turned into a successful agricultural area. Upon the discovery of gold, York experienced rapid growth as the town filled with miners in search of riches. Today, York continues to thrive as a tourist town thanks to its many wonderful Victorian heritage buildings and the picturesque Avon River.

The trip continues by venturing into Western Australia’s vast Golden Outback region. The landscape across this part of the country is an incredible display of red earth plains, deserts, lakes and woodlands. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to discover some true wonders of nature here. Stops include, unusual rock formations, Hippo’s Yawn, the Humps and the famous Wave Rock, where erosion and weathering has resulted in this granite outcrop forming the shape of a large ocean wave.

There is even time to gain some insight into the fascinating lives of Australia’s Indigenous peoples. Visit ancient gnamma holes, natural rock cavities that acted as natural water tanks for the Aboriginals. Then Explore Mulka’s Cave in search for cave paintings and engravings while learning about the legend of Mulka the Terrible.
